Turkey Tacos
Lean ground turkey meat is simmered in a flavorful taco seasoning for these delicious and quick 20-minute turkey tacos. Pair with your favorite taco toppings for an easy weeknight dinner recipe.

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup chopped yellow onion (roughly 1 small onion)
- 1 lb 94% lean ground turkey meat
- 2 tsp ground chili pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground paprika
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 14 oz can of diced tomatoes
- 12 corn tortillas (soft or hard shell) or flour tortillas
- My favorite toppings: homemade guacamole (or sliced avocado), pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, cheese (cotija or shredded cheddar) – see more topping suggestions above.
- Heat a skillet or pan over medium heat and add olive oil and chopped onion. Cook until lightly browned, roughly 3-5 minutes.
- Add ground turkey and brown on all sides for another 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in spices and salt and pepper and cook for 1 minute to allow flavors to absorb.
- Add canned diced tomatoes and lower heat to a simmer. Simmer for 10 minutes until tomatoes have mostly broken down.
- Heat your tortillas on the stove-top or in microwave.
- Add a scoop of turkey mixture and top with desired toppings.
